Outta’ Sight

The 2016 Robot

Outta’ Sight was the robot that we used in the 2016 season. Outta’ Sight featured an independently articulating suspension as well as pneumatic tires. These were used to absorb shocks that are incurred when driving over the obstacles during the game. In addition to the suspension Outta’ Sight featured an arm. Using two rollers that were attached to the front of the arm we were able to suck in and spit out the ball.

The Game

The feild for the 2016 Stronghold game.

The objective of the 2016 game was to attack the enemy castle. To do this our robot had to cross defenses and shoot balls into either a low or a high goal. Each of these actions gave a different amount of points that would be added to your score.
Each game round was 2 minutes and 30 seconds long with a 15 second autonomous period at the beginning of the round. During this autonomous period the driver and operator of the robot could not control it in any way. After the 15 seconds are over they can control the robots functions.
